That is what I thought and using that formula I get the error saying the "A number field ir currency amount field is required here" and has the {@ABCflag} highlighted.

Thanks

the @ABC flag is the first formula to get a 1 or a zero when you looked to see if each row had 'ABC' for the code
what is the exact formula you used for your version of the @ABCflag and what did you name it?

This is my first formula called Bakery_Group:

if {orders.cat_grp} = "BRD" then "1"

and then this is the second one that is in the footer section:

if sum({@Bakery_Group},{orders.route}) >0 then "BRD" else ""

If I put the first formula in the detail section it does give me a number 1 when it is suppose to.

Thanks

it is giving you text that reads as "1" but it is not a number, just text. text cannot be summed, which your second formula is trying to do. Get rid of the quotes around the 1 and you now have a number value which can be summed

if {orders.cat_grp} = "BRD" then 1

if sum({@Bakery_Group},{orders.route}) > 0 then "BRD" else ""

I hate when I make those simple mistakes. Thanks for all your help. You're awesome. Now if I can figure out the last of my mistakes I am golden

Big Thanks
