Greetings,

When I create a Parameter Field and the run the report prompting, the parameter "Prompt Text" is listed in the upper left corner of the prompt box, and the Parameter Field's name gets listed in the upper right corner of the prompt box.

For instance, I create a Parameter Field called "Enter Date From".  The prompt box's title becomes:

Enter Date From:                 Enter Date From

Even clearing the "Prompt Text" does not change the above output.

Is there a way to suppress the upper right description?

Thanks,

Rich

right-click --> format field --> general --> suppress.

EDIT: hmm I misread the question.

maybe this?
in the paramater field design,
in options section
type in the prompt that you want users to see  in the 'Prompt Text' setting.
Set the 'prompt with description only' as TRUE

No, I did try that.  The 'Prompt with description only' would suppress the prompted for value, i.e.

Prompt "Do you want to include totals?"
value #1 "Yes" Description "include totals"
value #2 "No"  Descritpion "exclude totals"

Example of a yes/no prompt answer and 'prompt with descption only = false:

Answer #1 will be "Yes - include totals", the prompt variable will = yes
Answer #2 will be "No - exclude totals", the prompt variable will = no

Example of a yes/no prompt answer and 'prompt with descption only = true:

Answer #1 will be "include totals", the prompt variable will = yes
Answer #2 will be "exclude totals", the prompt variable will = no

Thanks

Ahhh, Don't use static ones to often. I am guessing you don't have any GUI control over this header option appearing (param name).

To clarify I meant that I don't think there is any GUI option available to change that. I know many posters have custom interfaces that they have more control over but as far as the standard crystal solution I am not aware of any way to change it.
