HI all,

Creating a report with both a cross tab and chart, whenever I sort the chart using the specified order, the data in the chart is wrong-  Any way around this? Using CR2008.

To be more specific, the data is being pulled form an access query.  Want to specify the day and time of an occurrence.  When using the specified order to edit the time (originally listed in military time) to a more user friendly text, the chart will add up occurrences for different times, ie two occurrences for 10am, when really it should be one for 10am and one for 11am.

Help is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance :)

Do you have two fields, date and time, that you are trying to use or 1 datetime field?

if 2 fields, what is the data type for the 'military time' field?

Two fields-Date and Time, yet the data is the same.  Both fields when used return the same data ie 9/28/2010 11:15:00 AM.  And so to extract the information I needed, I used two functions- HOUR and WEEKDAY, which of course produce numbers for both the hour(military) and weekday.

Again the data source is an Access Query.

if you combine them into one datetime field in a formula you can do your calulations per day per hour by changing the group option to hourly.

I'm a newbie, mind explaining a little more?

Functions I used: Time: Hour([Table_Name])![Time])
                             Date:Weekday ([Table_Name])![Date]

Do you mean combine those functions in access? If so how?

Thanks so much for your responses so far! :)

in crystal create formula field (name it whatever) as..

table.date + table.time

in your CT use this formula field as your group
click on the group options and change the 'row will be printed' option to for each hour
