Topic: Repeated Events Not in Report Posted: 11 Apr 2011 at 10:11am
My report summarizes test events for a simulation. It works great if no event category is repeated during the test but fails to report the 2nd occurrance of any event cat (think of category as sub-test within one over-arching main test). The SQL Query Analyzer shows the 2nd one but the report fails to do so. My top group is event category and my next group is event name within the category. The two events have the same category and name but different start times.
How do I get CR to report on the 2nd occurrance of the same event category?
The data on the details section contains all instances of the expected Instructor Event Marks (comment strings)
My SQL query does not have select distinct records in it because I want to report on all activations of a checklist (TreeLocation\Checklist Name and the many sub-events within it).
Group Header #1 and #2 are not repeating for the TreeLocation/Event Name pairs that have later start times
but same names
Design:
Group Header #1 - TreeLocation - s (category)
Group sort in specified order (checklist 1 to
checklist 22 and then Instructor Event mark)
Group Header #2 - EventName
Group Header #3 - TreeLocation - a
Details - Strings containing Event marks
GF #2 and #3 nothing, GF #1 "-------------"
Report Footer - SubReport

headers only appear one time for the group of records that it is referencing. You can repeat the content of the header by making a GH3a, drop the Treelocation-s field on it and and GH3b and drop the event name field on it.
Thanks for your help!! I am able to display the StartTime of the repeated checklist when I delete GH#3 and insert Command.StartTime in the details section. At this point all of the formatting went to heck. I'm going to give a break for awhile and work on something else.
