I am grouping on a formula and based upon certain critera in my group footer, I may supress that footer.  This all works and life is good.

Now I want to shade every other footer line (that is printed).  This is the formula I have been using:

if Remainder(GroupNumber,2) = 0then crSilver else NoColor

This is not working well because it counts all group footers not just the ones printed.  Can this be modifed to only count the ones printed?

Thanks :)

create a running total to count the items shown and then use the rt to relace your GRoupNumber.

in the RT use your suppression formula as part of the evlauate formula

example

rt name = GF_count
field to summarize = field you are grouping on
type of summary = distinct count
evaluate = use a formula
NOT(gf suppression formula here)
reset=never
place on group footer
you should see it only increse the count on any non suppressed gf
you can suppress it to hide it from the report canvas

update your formula to use your RT:
if Remainder({#GF_count},2) = 0 then crSilver else NoColor
