Does anyone have any experience with putting crystal report 2008 in sharepoint server 2007?  I am fairly new at both so simple is better.  Is there a way to save a crystal report as an html and use that?  The request is to not have it open in a window (a new page is fine).

Thanks :)

You have several options (most of which I have figured works, but am looking for a better alternative)

Sharepoint 2007 has a crystal reports webpart that may be useful. I have not personally used it because our company hasn't gotten around to installing it, but if you have the capabilities to obtain it (ie: download and install) then you can try it out)

Currently we simply link to reports that have been uploaded onto the enterprise server and use HTML links to call the report viewer client and have it open in an iframe. That would resolve the "new window" issue.

Another way is to export the report in HTML through the export command in CR. It doesn't look very pretty, but it does get the job done. However I haven't been able to use it interactively for the clients so it's mainly for displaying information that probably won't change very often. If necessary there may be ways to schedule a fresh export so that you make an attempt to keep it up to date.
