Hi ALL

I have folder structure created in enterprise. I want to take a back up of the complete folder with the same structure in my test back up folder. Is there a way to select all and copy paste the original reports such that the same folder structure with all the report are copied in the test back up folder.

As when i check in the input file store in business objects i do not see the rpt names they are all ids .Thus i cannot copy them in an organized manner. Let me know if there is an easy way out to copy the entire structure in another folder.

In the Central Managment Server -> objects -> there is move or copy option which allows to specify new path , is that a tested solution.

Thanks to all and Merry Christmas

Which version of Enterprise are you using?  I don't have a copy of XI r2 handy to test, but in XI 3.x in InfoView you can right-click on the folder name, select "Organize" then "Copy" and then paste the entire folder someplace else.  In the CMC you can right-click, select "Organize" and then "Copy To" to copy the contents.

By "Test Back Up Folder" do you mean a folder in BusinessObjects or a folder on a server/workstation somewhere?  If you're trying to back up a folder with it's reports, you can use the Import Wizard.

Thanks, the test back up folder i meant somewhere on my workstation which can be used in the share point or VSS.

I was wondering if there was some easy or quicker way of making the copy of the reports or we just have to do it manually one by one opening all the CR reports and saving it to the new location.
Learning can be fun.

Ahhh, now I understand!  You want a back-up copy of the .rpt files from the Input File Repository so that you can put them in version control or do other things with them.

No, there is no easy way of doing this inside BusinessObjects itself.  AFAIK, there are no third-party tools for doing this.  However, if you know how to program - Java or .NET - you could write a tool to do it yourself using the SDK.  There is a .NET SDK tutorial program and other sample code on my website:  www.dellstinnett.com/sample_code.html - scroll to the bottom of the page for the basic tutorial.
