Topic: Suppressed Footers Still appear as blank sections Posted: 06 Dec 2010 at 8:00am
Hey all,
I have a couple of conditionally suppressed page footers that still appear on my final report as blank sections. They end up taking up space and pushing my report onto two pages. Any ideas whats going here?

COuple of thoughts...
1. your suppression condition involves NULL values that are not being accounted for so the condition is not evaluated on these records so no TRUE or FALSE is returned at all.
2. the group that is being "pushed" is set to 'keep togther' and is pushing itself onto the next page (rather than the footer)

in your report designer when you preview the report does the section label appear balnk for these errant areas or does it appear with a label. If so what is the label?

I believe that this is indicating that your section is correctly suppressed and is a red herring. The real issue is that something else is pushing the next section onto the next page (like the 'keep together'). This optionĀ is in multiple places.
What is the architecture of your section expert?
Do you have Keep group tegther as T or F in teh group expert options per group?

It might have been. I removed many "keep together", but also checked 'Reserve Minimum Page Footer'. This has seemed to get rid of the extra spaces in the footer.
