I have a report that displays serial number for each piece of computer hardware. on the same line I also indicate the what type of equipment it is - ie laptop or rackmount. on the same line I also indicate what model the laptop or rackmount is.

i want my report to show:

Laptop count is for D610 - (total)

Laptop count for D600 = (total

Rackmount count is = (total)

ETC

How do i get the report to show what the grouping is (laptop or rackmounts) and then to count the number of records that are D610, D600, etc.

Thanks!

Insert/Create a group and use the table.field that represents the data you want to group together.

then in the Group Footer, you can put an aggregate (the Sigma or funny looking E) button.  It will default to sum, but you can choose other options.
