     Maybe try a different approach to get your successes. 
Create a formula to count the passing subjects
if pass criteria then 1
do a SUM on that at the college group
insert a summary as a count of all subjects at the college group
do a RT for successes as a distinctcount of the college
evalauted using a formula
SUM(passing,college)=Count(subjects,college)
reset on state group
