Greetings!
We have a customer
who is demanding that everything look absolutely perfect, whether or not it
really matters to the operation of their system. If there are "error: messages
in log files anywhere, the customer is demanding that we clean them up. It
doesn't matter to him if we point out that our system is working
perfectly.
Our product includes
several Crystal Reports reports that read data from a PostgreSQL database. The
reports were most recently edited using CR XI, but whose origins are shrouded in
the mists of time. When a report is opened, a large number of messages appear
in the PostgreSQL database logs, beginning with these:
2010-08-26 11:10:41
EDTERROR: syntax error at or near "qecr" at character 2
2010-08-26 11:10:41
EDTSTATEMENT: qecr.lic,brahmabrahmabrahmabrahma()
2010-08-26 11:10:41
EDTWARNING: nonstandard use of \\ in a string literal at character
159
2010-08-26 11:10:41 EDTHINT: Use the escape string syntax for
backslashes, e.g., E'\\'.
2010-08-26 11:10:41 EDTWARNING: nonstandard use of
\\ in a string literal at character 382
2010-08-26 11:10:41 EDTHINT: Use the
escape string syntax for backslashes, e.g., E'\\'.
All other messages
are repeats of the backslash warning.
It appears that the
qecr error has something to do with licensing. I do not know where the
backslash warnings are coming from.
Could somebody
please tell me what I can do to get rid of the error message? I would also like
to get rid of the warnings, but the error message is the important one
now.
