I have a report which has a shared numbervar contained with a subreport.
On the main report i have a formula that links to the shared numbervar, i want to add up the figures the formula returns. When i go to summarise, it does not give me the option of including that formula.

since it is a shared variable, it is not available at the time the report is initialized, but must be created as the report is being written...So you need to perform the summarization yourself. Incrementing the various group values and reseting them as needed and displaying them appropriately.
