my formula is
 
if pagenumber <> 1
pagenumber
 
and named it as @Page
 
now i want to do the report grouping based on this formula but i am not able to find the @Page formula in the grouping section.
 
Please somebody help me to sort this out.

In another terms i want to do grouping based on the page number. Any other way of grouping on pagenumber?

you cannot group on the page number bacuase the page number is based how the data is displayed which is partially defined by grouping, therefore the page # does not exist until after grouping is defined
