If I have a report with three columns of data - RecordNumber, Currency, and Description, with the RecordNumber field autopopulating as additional rows of data are added to the report - Is there a way to have the RecordNumber field show a NULL value if additional 'Description' records are added to the report, but without the 'Date' record showing on the same row of data?

i am guessing that RecordNumber is the special crystal field and not a field from your DB.
You can likely use a Running Total to replace it.
Can you show some sample rows of how you want the numbers to appear and explain what in the data is unique about the rows that do not get counted.

Yes, RecordNumber is the special crystal field.

Sample:

RecordNumber                    Currency                       Description
      01                                 $100.00                        Software
      02                                 $125.00                        Motherboard
      NULL                              NULL                            Memory
      NULL                              NULL                            Hard drives

Sorry about the inital post. I mentioned something about a 'Date' record, which was incorrect. What I meant to say was that I would like to add a description without the RecordNumber field autopopulating if the currency field is NULL.

My main goal is to have my end report, which looks similar to an excel spreadsheet (but with a page header), to show the dividing lines for rows and colums on the entire page, even if the rows are empty/NULL. What my report currently shows is rows and columns for any records in the report, which sometimes only has two or three rows of data. I'd like it to fill the entire page with the dividing lines.

Sorry if this post is confusing.

Not sure i understand your entire end result desire but if you create a Running Total as a Count of Currency Field and replace the RecordNumber field withe never at reset with it you should get the NULLS where you want them
