What's an easy way to make a 'Date' field expand to an additional line. The 'Can Grow' checkbox is grayed out.

yes, I would like it to wrap. Is there a reason why the 'Can Grow' tab is grayed out?

Use a formula to convert it to a string then set the width as you want with 'can grow' set to True on the formula field..
totext(date)
or if you want it to wrap at a specific place include that in your formula field.
if you need help writing that post an example of the field and your desired result.

Since I can't resize the other fields in the report to make the date fit, I need the date to look like this:
10/20/
2010
I would like the year to be on a separate line.

totext({table.DATE},'MM/dd/'+CHR(13)+'yyyy')

I'm really confused how the 'CHR(13)' fits into the formula, but it worked as suggested.
Thank you.

CHR(13) is just the character for a carriage return.
It is a very handy thing to remember
