     Posted: 15 Jul 2010 at 6:28am
Hi, My name is rajasekhar i want to display the Totals in the detail tab,i..e
i have a report that is displaying the Total Amount of each customer which is came from the database query,I have my customers are rated as some levels example:numLevel=1,2,3,4,5.. By displaying the Level one as the Black color, level 2 as the red color and each are displaying the Different colors etc.ok,Now The customers are Under one of the other,i.e. Level5 is under,level4 and level4 is under level3 like that. Now i want the totals which are present under level2 customer. i tried by running Totals but It is displaying the Result at the Last Row of that Level2,But i want the Total to be displayed in the Level2 Row.

Ex:
Level1
   Level2          -----------------------------------Total Sum of A
      Level3                            A
   Level2         -----------------------------------Total Sum of (B + C)
      Level3                            B
      Level3                            B
          Level4                        C
  Level2         ------------------------------------Total Sum of D
         Level5                         D

I want the Report as this way

Presently i am able to calculate the Total from running total field And displaying it at the Botom of that Level,But i need to display the running total on the Corresponding Level2.
as i shown in the above records are in details view only.

please help me if any one can do it,this is very urgent.

Thanks in advance

in this case you need to make Group for each level.

and create Total (sum) for Group Header 2 (GH2) which will printed in Group Footer 2 (GF2) by default.
and then you can move this total and put it in GH2 section.

hope it help.

as you said that all your data are categorize by each level (1,2,3,4,5).
where level 5 is under level 4, level 4 under level 3 and so-on.

so, you can create a Group for each level.
and you'll get something like this in Design mode:
GH1 - Level 1
GH2 -    Level 2
GH3 -       Level 3
Detail -        .......
Detail -        .......
Detail -        .......
GH4 -          Level 4
Detail -            .......
GH2 -    Level 2
GH5 -             Level 5
Detail -               .......

by default, there will be Group Footer (GF) for each Group that you created.
and everytime you make a Total for numeric field on one of the group it will printed in GF section for that group.

my point is: you can move the total field from GF and put it to GH section.

hope that it help.

ok,
MainLevel---------(GroupHeader)
   numlevel2
       numlevel3                -------- A
          numlevel4             -------- B
   numlevel2
        numlevel3               -------- A
------------------------                  sum(A+B+A)           ---(GroupFooter)
MainLevel 2-------(GroupHeader)
       numLevel2
          numLevel3 -----------------A
          numLevel3 -----------------A
       numLevel2
          numLevel3-----------------A
             numLevel4-------------- B
                   numLevel5 ---------C
----------------------              sum(A+B+C)                Group Footer

Presently the report is shown in the above format
I want the report now with the numLevel2 Total,I.e,I want the Total Who are under the numLevel2  and the sum must be displayed on the numLevel2 Row.

MainLevel---------(GroupHeader)
   numlevel2          -------------------------------Sum (A+B)
       numlevel3                -------- A
          numlevel4             -------- B
   numlevel2          ------------------------------Sum(A)
        numlevel3               -------- A
------------------------                  sum(A+B+A)           ---(GroupFooter)
MainLevel 2-------(GroupHeader)
       numLevel2------------------------------Sum(A+A)
          numLevel3 -----------------A
          numLevel3 -----------------A
       numLevel2------------------------------Sum(A+B+C)
          numLevel3-----------------A
             numLevel4-------------- B
                   numLevel5 ---------C
----------------------              sum(A+A+A+B+C)    -------  Group Footer
this is the format i want.

I tried using the running Total to calculate the sum and the report is as follows
-------------
MainLevel---------(GroupHeader)
   numlevel2
       numlevel3                -------- A                A   (i am displaying this field)
numlevel4             -------- B               A+B(Here i am getting the result for this numLevel2 but i want to display this result in the Numlevel2 Row))
   numlevel2
        numlevel3               -------- A               A
------------------------                  sum(A+B+A)           ---(GroupFooter)
MainLevel 2-------(GroupHeader)
       numLevel2
          numLevel3 -----------------A    ----------sum(A)
          numLevel3 -----------------A    ----------Sum(A+A)
       numLevel2
          numLevel3-----------------A     -----------Sum(A)
             numLevel4-------------- B    -----------Sum(A+B)
                   numLevel5 ---------C    -----------Sum(A+B+C)(i am geting here)
----------------------              sum(A+B+C)                Group Footer
