Hi, 
 
I have sample report which shows all people and the amount of goods they have sold and there state.
 
person1 - NSW - $130
person2 - NSW - $120
person3 - NSW - $110
person1 - QLD- $100
person2 - QLD - $200
person3 - QLD - $300
 
 
I have a group level by state show amount each state has sold, but I also want on that summary level to show who the top performer was for that state.
 
eg
 
STATE - SOLD - top performer
 
NSW  -   $360 - person1
QLD   -   $600 - person3
 
 
my question is how can I get the name of the person to show up based on the fact Im looking for person with the highest sale amount for that state?

use global variables,
in the group header for the state, set the name to "" and the amount to 0
 
in the detail...or the group footer by person
if their amount is > variable amount, update the amount and set the name to person
 
in the state footer, display the name
