I am kind of stumped on this one. Trying to make a report that has a date range. {Jail_Confinement.Date_Released} is between Jan 1, 09 and Dec 31, 09. But also I need to see the Inmates that have null for {Jail_Confinement.Date_Released} if they were confined during the same period.
 
So it would look something like this:
 
Inmate               Confined             Released
Tim                      Dec 1, 08             Feb 1, 09 
Jim                       Feb 2, 09             Apr 2, 09
steve                   Sept 2, 09            null

table.ConfinedDate < date(2009,12,31)
and

isnull(table.Releasedate )
or table.Releasedate in date(2009,1,1) to date(2009,12,31)
)
