Topic: How Crystal Report sort data (ASCII/EBCDIC/other)?
Posted: 21 Mar 2010 at 9:36pm
Hi,
We found that the sorting in Crystal Reports is difference from Mainframe. For Example:
Data: 1231, 123A
Crystal Sort (ascending) : 1231, 123A
Mainframe Sort (ascending) : 123A, 1231
Does anyone know how Crystal Report sort data? Based on what kind of standard code e.g. ASCII, EBCDIC.
Thank you.

Yes it should be sorting by ASCII. I have not seen any exceptions to this.
