Here is my problem? I would like to make a report that removes a couple of records. Here is what I have.

{Inmate Name} {Audit_Trail.AfterValue} {@EMP}

{Audit_Trail.AfterValue} is a text field with mutilpe different entrys

{@EMP} is a formula that returns a true/false of {Audit_Trail.AfterValue}  = "EMP"

So in the Detail Field there are mutiple false and only a couple inmates will have a true for the {@EMP} field. But they will also have false fields as not all the {Audit_Trail.AfterValue} = "EMP".

When I either suppress the true fields it still leaves me all the inmates other records. I would like this to be gone.

If the {Inmate Name} has any "EMP" I do not want it to show.

Please help me. I am beating my head on the desk.

Group on Inmate name
Change your {@EMP} to be
if {Audit_Trail.AfterValue}  = "EMP" then 1 else 0
Do an Insert Summary as a SUM of {@EMP} at the group level of inmate name.
Now you can either suppress a the sections (header and detail) when that SUm >0
or you can exclude the records altogther in the select expert using a group select criteria of
SUM(@emp,group)=0

Is there anyway to then count the missing or suppressed inmate names?

If you exclude then no they cannot be counted.
If you suppress them yes they can be counted.
Suppressed records are allways included in counts/sums unless you conditionally exclude them via a running total or variable formula.
