How can I search for the character '*' using the LIKE operator when the * is a wild card character?

in sql server, it is not the wild character. in CR I would use the instr() command to search.  Access probably uses it as a wildcard, but you could probably use instr again (it's been a long time since I used Access).  In sql server you could also use charindex().
