The objects are stored within one table, each having a unique ID, object name, and Parent ID (amongst other detail fields).
For example, a costing report with ID 32 may have a parent ID of 15, which links to a folder called 'Costing Reports'. This costing report folder may have a Parent ID of 0, which means it doesn't have a parent so it is the root folder.
However the problem isn't organising it into hierarchical data within Crystal - I've managed to do that using the 'Hierarchical Grouping Options' and it works fine. My problem is being able to drill down through the hierarchy (as they are all classed as group 1).
I would like it so a user can see the first level (ie the root folders), and then when they drill into that they see the name of the folder they're in and its contents, as well as the root folder name above that level.
Hope this makes sense? I'm trying to get it to present it like a folder hierarchy in Windows Explorer - you get the tree view at the side, and you can see the files in the current folder and the parent folders of the one you're currently in.
Thanks
