Topic: Help:Negative Symbol missing in Excel after export Posted: 09 Nov 2009 at 2:29pm
Hello Folks,
I have a field called "Fee" which is an integer and its in the format of say Example $500. My requirement is that i have to show all of the field values with a negative symbol. I was successful in doing that i.e i have modified the format field and inserted a "-" in the Currency symbol Tab. But the problem is after exporting to excel i cant see the Negative symbols for the Fee Column. Can anyone please throw some light on this.
Is there anyother way that i can accomodate the minus(-) symbol?

If it is a currency field type I would just make a formula field and muliply the field by -1 and make the formula field format to to the $-1,123.00 option and export it.
table.currencyfield * (-1)
If is is numeric I would convert it to currency when multiplying it, change the format and export (as above)...

Hey thanks for getting bak. i did created a formula as u hav said, the report shows values as $-500 and -$500 in excel.Is there anyway that i can see it as -$500 in the rpt and excel as well.
