We are trying to create a report that will give us information from user defined relationships from the same inventory table.  We can easily get the information for the main number and the number of the related item but how do we get the description and other information for the related part # to show in the group?

This would be the layout:

Part #,   Description, On hand,
      Related Part#, Description, on hand,

1234,  New widget, 10  (main item)
9876, old widget, 9   (related item)

5678, Old Card, 0
    3452, oldest Card, 99

stored proc, or create a join to the same table using the related part number as the joining criteria...probably and outer join as, I'm guessing, not every part is related to another part.

WOW,  that works exactly like we wanted.  I never thought about adding the table again. I can think of a lot of ways to use this.
Thank you.
