CR9

Is it possible to conditionally change the font size of a field?

If {table.field} >99999 then font size = 8 else font size = 10

Right click on the field and select format field
click on the Font tab
click onthe formula box next to the Size option
insert the formula as:
If {table.field} >99999 then 8 else 10

WOW - it never crossed my mind to use my made up formula.

Who woulda thunk 8 else 10 meant font size!!!!!

Another problem I have is I have the largest monitor in the company.  Often I create a report that looks well on my screen and on the end users it displays ###### instead of the field info.

Other than physically viewing every report on others PCs, is there a way to automatically control this?

There are quite a few mechanisms for this but I am not very familiar with them.
A web site to look into is www.kenhamady.com/bookmarks.html that reviews and shows a number of different viewer options (free and $).

I am not sure how to address your other problem with the numeric field switching to ####.
Is it possible that they are viewing different data (mostly volume) than you? For example when you ar designing the report you are limiting the data pulled in to make it easier to spot check and design, however your end users are looking at larger data scopes (like FY sales)?
This would be a more likely issue than the monitor size.
The ####### appears when a numeric amount is too large to  fit in the alloted field space. Usually happens on Sums or Counts. WHen you design you have to test it for what you think the largest number would be not what looks good on your test / design report set.
Is this what is happening?

it is a matter of the numeric amount being to large to fit

but a report (all same data!) will look perfect on my screen and display ##### on my boss or the conference room computer

maybe it's a result of screen resolution

thanks for all your (ongoing) assistance DBlank
