Hello Folks,
I have this urgent requirement where i need to get rid of couple of rows from the report which are probably showing negative amounts for a particular case. I was wondering if there is anyway i can get rid of these rows by suppressing or something like that. can anyone please throw some light on this.

Thanks

If the amounts are showing negative, you could suppress that line of detail if the amount is < 0.  Go to the section expert and set that as a formula to suppress.  {your.field} < 0.  If your detail is not broken down into multiple detail sections, just go to the select expert within the report and set that field to not include anything < 0.

wow thanks for the quick reply. I went to each column and suppressed each column based on the condition u said and was able to suppress all the rows which are negative. Another help i need is I have Total column in the Footer section which includes the sum of all the rows which obviously is taking the negatives one also,Hw do i get rid of the negatives one in the total sum.

Thanks

Create 2 new formulas

Formula 1

if {table.field}<0 then 0 else {table.field)

Formula 2

sum({@Formula1})

I think this should work.

Here is another possibility. You could try a creating a new  RunningTotal and set it (Use the formula function in the dialog)to  increment (add) when the number is greater than 0. ( {tbl1.field1}>0) You would use it in place of the Summary or a formula.

Hope this is of some help.
