Hello Folks,
I have this client report which has a subreport in it with parameters defined in it such as start date, end date, client code and Group name.
Now the problem is for a specific startdate, end date, client code and group name if the corresponding Client doesnt have files for specified month then the report comes back by displaying a blank page.
My requirement is that i have to atleast display the Client Name and Client Code in the header top part of the report which doesnt have data for that specific month. Why does the report comes as a blank? To my understanding it should atleast show the client name, client code, start date nd end date. Can anybody please throw some light on this.

Thanks

Hello,
Try this. May be it will help you out.
Create one more parameter say 'AllDates' as boolean. If its value is true then pass start date as '1900-01-01' and end date as '3200-01-01' and if the value is false then pass ur original start date and end date. and also please use outer join to get client information.

It's the outer join that will return what you want.  Outer joins return all of one side of the select and the matching part of the other...let's say you have a left outer join like this:

select * from tablea left outer join tableb on tablea.fieldx = tableb.fieldy

EVERYTHING in tablea is returned because it to the left of the join...only the rows that match (a traditional inner join) are displayed for tableb, the rest of the rows that don't match are returned as null.
