i have a table which the data such as below:

item              transaction type                     qty

a1                 receipt                                    40
a1                 issue                                       10
a2                 receipt                                     5
a2                 receipt                                     4

so in CR i made a function;
if transaction type = receipt then
qty
else
"0"

but when i running the report, for certain item it running ok...but some of them is repeated as per sample below:

a1               receipt                                   40
a1               receipt                                   40
a2               receipt                                    5
a2               receipt                                    4

so for item a1 the data is repeated but a2 is ok.
hope you could help me on this.

thank you.

Is data coming from single table or have you used any joins?

did you place data in details section , used any groups?
where exactly u r using this formula?

yes i put the formula in the details section and i grouped it by item. the data is in single table but i join the table with another table for list of all item. im actually using Baan V System which using SQL database.
