Hey all,
I'm using CRXI and have a report (which everything runs perfectly on)
my only problem is. I'm trying to get the trendline (mean) to show up correctly on my graph.

Well perhaps it's showing up "correctly" but... it's not what i thought it'd be...

Currently it's taking the average of all the percentages that are populating on the report. rather than the actual mean of all of the data.

I wouldn't really care too much if i could use a custom line but it doesn't seem like that option is available on the "Percent Stack Graph"

At any rate... Does anyone know how i could get it to populate a line of the total Numerator/Denominator rather than the mean of performances...?

More bar charts eh?

Can you explain more?
What are the percentages of (how are they calculated), how do you want the mean calcuated? How do you want to present it in the report?

Haha, yes more barcharts (lots more actually. but this is going to be the basic format for all of them... so once i get this down i should be home free!).
The Percentages are rates of performance. So the denominator for each individuel are different since they all have a different pool.

I need the mean (i'm not sure anymore if it's actually considered the "mean") the:
(total number of completed encounters / total number of encounters).
and i want it as a line going across kind of like this is where the orginization is at... this is where your at type thing....

What the bargraph is doing is;

y-axis: 0%-100%
x-axis: user_id
data: the individual's performance. (completed/ total number of encounters) on an individual basis.

does this make sense?

So you are looking for a trending line per individual?
or you already have that and need a company average to compare individuals performance to?

This seems to come up often. It seems that there should be a way to do this but I am not seeing it. I think if you added a mean trendline it is re averaging the info off the grouped information and so you are not getting the number you expected (or wanted).

Poster Dan3D always recommends a CR chart add on to do these things along with his disclaimer that he works for the company threedgraphics.com that makes the product.
I have never needed it so I have never checked into it.

Yeah. I remember him posting a response to my suggestion for additions to CR awhile back... I don't understand why you can't even add a custom line in the Percent Bar Graph format either though... it doesn't really make sense....

Some of these restrictions i just can't wrap my head around....

Don't get me started on the whackiness of CR Charting. I worked on the basics of this kernel many years ago and they just did an AWFUL job hooking up what is really a very good charting library (same one that works flawlessly in Cognos, MicroStrategy, WebFocus, and many others).

Crystal paid us for this code about 8 years ago and has just let it more-or-less simmer. I could correct about 40 obvious and annoying bugs in a 2 or 3 weeks if they let me. But its not my call.

CRChart is my attempt to work around the many obvious flaws in CR graphs. It has delightful and powerful custom-line functionality (20 lines on any axis! runtime values! user-text on the lines! etc...).  Take a gander at the free eval copy on our website. Track me down on my email account and I'll send you a coupon code good for 25% off.
