YOu cannot use this in a select statment although depending on how you have it set up you could conditinally suppress items on that condition.
Just make a paramater field called "Rate" (or whatever you want) as a number type and then in the section expert conditionally suppress each section you want to hide as:
should have mentioned the {@CustYieldOnActYrly} resides in the GF5. So I conditionally suppressed GF5 as instructed. All the GF5 < Yield were suppressed.
Had a problem with visible details So I also put that conditional suppression into the details. But Not all the details were properly suppressed.
additionally. my RT on Extended Sales in GF1 did not change. even tho it suppressed some items they were still in the grand total.

Supressing has no impact on if a field is included in any type of summarization (eg grand total) as it is not excluding the data from the report, it only hides it from view. You have to exclude it manually from any totals.
These things always get tricky because of the way Crystal reads the data in passes and what happens on each pass.
Not sure I can assist much more without seeing sample row level data and what you need to do with it.
