Topic: Totals at TOPof GH1 Posted: 30 Jun 2009 at 6:34am
Hello,
Is there a way to put GH1 totals at the top of a group without creating a subreport?
TOTAL ALL STATES xxxxxx zzzzzz yyyyyy
ALABAMA xxx zzz yyy
ALASKA xxx zzz yyy
ARKANSAS xxx zzz yyy
ETC. xxx zzz yyy
GH2 and GH3 allow for it after the drill into each state; but my requirements are to put a Total of all 50 states on the top of page 1 and then suppress.
The suppression I can do with DRILLDOWNGROUPLEVEL; it's just getting a total without using a sub-report.

It depends on what you are totaling.
If you can use the SUmmary Function to get a SUM, COUNT, DISTINCTCOUNT, etc. then you can place that on a header (including report header for all records). If you are using variables or Running Totals to conditionally include records then these would have to be on footers.

You cannot show a total of all states on GH1 if Group1 is on the state name. You have to show that on the Report Header.
By default when you use the insert Summary function it will insert the summary field into a footer. You can drag and drop it onto a header. So your grand toals would have defaulted to ending up on the Report footer, you can drag those to the report header.
