Hello,

Currently I have a sub-report that is link to a main report by a unique ID. I have 1 fields on my sub-report, HDNAME. So currently my report look like this

ID.......HDName (this is from sub-report)
1AB....Maxtor1
..........MAxtor2
..........MAxtor3
..........MAxtor4
2AB....Western1
2AB....Western2

What I want to do is have the report to show it like this

1AB......Maxtor1........Maxtor2.......Maxtor3.......Maxtor4
2AB....Western1.....Western2.......Blank.........Blank

How can I do this?

Thank you

write a formula in the subreport that appends the HDName to a string and in the footer displays this string.

well that would concatenate all the record into one field. What I need is for each of the record to be in separate field. Within Crystal report there a option to list record across instead of down but it will only give me this:
1AB....Maxtor1...............2AB....Western1
..........MAxtor2...............2AB....Western2
..........MAxtor3
..........MAxtor4
What I need is for each hard-drive to be in separate field like:

1AB......Maxtor1........Maxtor2.......Maxtor3.......Maxtor4
2AB....Western1.....Western2.......Blank.........Blank
Thank you

you can't do it.  Crystal is going to display basically 1 row per record.  Or as you see, the way that it wants.

Why do you need them to be in their own fields?  Are we conditionally suppressing or coloring or exporting to another program.  If no, then why?

Crystal is not going to do what you want.

Yes I am trying to do this so i can export to excel. We are using this data for disaster recovery and when you export the data without formating it give the recovery team a false assumption that there are two same instance instead of one.

For example:
1AB....Maxtor1
1AB....Maxtor2
1AB....Maxtor3
1AB....Maxtor4

When looking at that in excel would give the team a perception of 4 different computer with one hard-drive for each. If I suppress the 1Ab then the layout of excel would mess up and the team cant do any sort or any data manipulation. So the plan is to have all information export to just one line.
1AB......Maxtor1........Maxtor2.......Maxtor3.......Maxtor4

which can be done with appending and concatenating but still wont allow for data manipulation or sortting on each drives.
