Hi,

I'm creating a report from a service management tool which has a number of linked tables. The table names I am using in the report are: Incident, Journal and task.

When creating a report with no entries in the journal field the report results are blank for all fields (including those from Incident and Task).

When there is data in the Jornal database the report works just fine.

Is there some sort of formula or option setting I can change to prevent this from happening?

Thanks
James

Not sure exactly what youa re trying to accomplish. The type of join you set up in your tables as well as your select statement will impact this. If you can explain more exactly what youa re trying to accomplish and what your set up is we may be able to give you more direction.

Sounds like all the tables are linked as inner joins, which means that the data the that the tables are joined on HAS to EXIST in all tables at the same time.

If you know that one of the tables maybe blank, but that the other tables still have information that you can report on, then change the links to OUTER JOINS.  You might have to experiment which way the joi  goes, but go to the database, right click on the link and select a link type that is an outer join.

Thanks again,

James
