Are their any groups in your report?

 

I think if you have Group on Code,then do Insert Summary and select Date Field and Type of Summary Minimum ,then you will get the Minimum of Date per Group.

 

Then Go to Details Section right click and then Click X+2 against Suppress(No Drill Down) and enter  the code below

 

 

this will suppress the oldest date record in the details section

 

suppress the unwanted sections....

Group on Code

 

Insert Summary on the Date Field and select Summary Type Minimum,once you do that it will isnert Minimum date in Group Footer per Code .

 

Then Go to Details Section Right Click, select section expert then in common tab click x+2 against suppress (no drill down) in that enter the code i.e. you can select the from Report Fields Expand them

 

 

Minimum ({table.datefieldname}, {Table.code})={table.datefieldname}
