Quote tedjop Replybullet Topic: Printing group 2 times on a page
     Posted: 02 Jun 2009 at 4:05pm

I have problem of printing 2 copies of checks (from the same group) on 1 page. Example:

Check No: 0100    Description           Amount

                             CompA                 $550.00
Total:                                                $550.00
-----------------------------------------------------------

Check No: 0100    Description           Amount

                             CompA                 $550.00
Total:                                                $550.00

The grouping is base on the number of the check. I could not create another group AFTER group #1. If I create another group it will be nested inside the group #1.

So, I thought I am going to use variable or parameter. But I could not set the variable or parameter.

If you have idea on how to do this by utilizing variable/parameter trick and group ordering OR if you know how to do this different way, please let me know?

Thanks so much!

Depends on how you are displaying the rest of the data.
If it can all go on the header just add a GH2 and place it all in there (or replicate the data on the GF).
If you need a lot of extrad data presented you could create a that presents all of the data and place it on the Details a and make a copy and place it on Details B.
It really depends on what all you need to display...

DBlank, problem is the detail of the Group can have more than 1 description:

Check No: 0100    Description           Amount
                  CompA                 $550.00
                  Genset               $300.00
Total:                                  $850.00
---------------------------------------------------------

Check No: 0100    Description           Amount
                  CompA                 $550.00
                  Genset               $300.00
Total:                                  $850.00

The detail can't be put into header or footer, but it will be in detail section.

The condition you describe is for detail that does not have multiple lines. You can put them inside header, footer or detail. Putting header inside detail will make header repeated if the detail has more than 1 line.

Sorry, typed even worse than usual last night Confused
I meant to state that if you have a lot of detail row data then you can create 2 subreports to present all of that data. They would be exact replicas of each other (e.g your 2 check printing need) and could be placed on a details a and details b row if you can get your main report down to a single row of data. If not place them a GHa and GHB and then suppress the details in your main report (as the sub reports will repalce that info).

Thanks DBlank for your help/hint. Using subreport is the answer. But now I got another problem. How to make group footer printed at the exact position, such as 3" from the top. Well, inside the detail of the group there can be 1 or more lines, and the group footer will adjust according to how many lines inside the detail.

The challenge is to print the group footer (I think group footer is the only choice, not report or page footer) at the exact location so 1/3 of the page is the stub of the check, another 1/3 is the copy of the stub, and the last 1/3 is the check itself.
