Hi There !

I need to change a report myself, rather than pay our application supplier an exorbitant price for what I think is a simple change. PS I am very new to Crystal reporting - and am trying to save my company money in the current recession...

We have a 'Site' subtotal, which is in the Group Footer #2 section of a report, which is simply a sum of the figures above it. These Site Subtotals are scattered thoughout the report, and its very time consuming to go through, so we would like them grouped together at the bottom of the report.

I cant simply copy and paste the subtotals, because it only shows the last subtotal (makes sense) and so there must be a way to save each subtotal as its generated, and use it later in the footer - near the end of the report generation process ?

Thanks in advance for any help - all gratefully appreciated.

no, not really, it is just a number.  If wanted a recap of all site totals in group 1 or the report footer, the only suggestion I can think of off the top of my head would be to create a formatted string that you could parse when you wanted to see it.  You would use shared variables.

The other thought is to create a shared array variable and populate it for each site and then recall this at the end of the report, but I have never done this and it might not work.

Or you could write a subreport that would mimic the whole group 2, but only report on the group footer (would probably not be good for performance as the report is effect being generated twice, and displayed only once.

Moving totals from where they are calculated to another group is not at all a trivial task, at least not if you want a description and the associated value... that is what the group footer is for.
