hi i am using 2008 can you help need to write report to show data for finanical year april 1st to marc 31st i only getting calendar year can you please help

you could use a filter that looks at your dates in the Selection Formula, here you could check if the date is between the 2 dates you want, or you you could see if there a field for fiscal year and use that, or you could create a stored procedure or a view that would return the data that you are looking for a given fiscal year.
All are really the same thing, you are just filtering out all the 'bad' records and keeping the good.

When you use 1/04/05 to 31/03/09 as your parameters, are you trying to select data for 5 financial years ? Does your report run correctly if you select only 1 financial year ? (1/04/05 to 31/03/06)
How do you break out each year when you select 5 years at a time ? Are you looking for a year change or do you have a series of if statements checking to see if the record is between certain dates ?
I know I have a lot of questions but it is difficult to exactly see your problem.
