Hi again....
 
I've been banging my head against the wall with a problem I have yet to fully understand the fix for.
 
I have created a formula that turns codes into "Friendly Names"
 
Looks something like this:
 
IF {Table.Field} = ["0001", "0002","0003"] THEN "LOBSTER"
 
ELSE IF {Table.Field} = ["0004", "0005","0006"] THEN "CRAB"
 
ELSE "OTHER"
 
So, this works, except where "field" does not contain a value (like 0001, 0005). 
 
It just prints an empty field, not "OTHER".
 
I understand it needs a value to return a result, but how do I overcome this?  I have tried fooling with isnull, etc...but, no luck.

Also try selecting the settings from File Menu ---Report Options---Convert Other NULL values to Default.....
 
the above option is available once you open the report....

Thanks for the replies...Workin' like a charm.  I guess my error was putting null at the end, instead of up front.

FYI - I have found crystal can be a bit odd when using isnull especially in an if - then statement. I try to always put that as the first part to rule it out of the rest of the equation and it seems to help.
