Hi,

I have a report that could be dynamically grouped by users during run time using paramenters.
Currently, the parameter has Department,Month,Week for grouping options. Users can choose any order as per their need.

For example, the report could be grouped like this.

Dept
 2009/02
   Week of 2/1/2009
   Week of 2/8/2009
   Week of 2/15/2009
   Week of 2/22/2009

Here, as I am using dynamic grouping, I had to pass the date for week as string. So the week is not properly (Ascending order) grouped.

Please help me how can I do this??? I you have any questions , most welcome.

can you explain this more as it is too vague for me to help.
What is the formula, how is your dynamic grouping working, etc. ?

you will need to build a formula that accounts for all permutations of the group, and you will need a parameter of some sort that will allow the user to specify how they want the report grouped.  Your formula will then have to look the parameters and respond accordingly.

depending on the number of parameters, this can be a nightmare to code, but 3 isn't too bad.
