I need to see if it is possible to "snake" a sub-report. The sub report is presented above the main report and to the right of a smaller information section (see illustration below). Currently the sub-report (B) can have as many as ten records pushing the main report down and leaving a considerable amount of white space below (A). Can this sub-report be configured to snake into two "columns" as in the "Desired" section in the illustration?

You could try and set that sub report with multiple columns (defualt to across).
make sure you set up the column width information for it to work.

Thanks, took a little exploring to find all the settings to make it work but it works great.
