Hi, Im working at a company and my project it to make reports for the program that we are making. in this report we have to show multiple images depending on what they are doing. The problem that I am facing in this situation is that the amount of images on the report will need to change a lot. I was wondering if there were any way of dynamically adding fields to a report so that we could put the right amount of images on the final report. Thanks for any help!!

Can you give more specific examples of what you are trying to accomplish here?

Maybe, DBlank has a different approach, but from my understanding, no, you can't add fields to a report and have them display. You can change the value of the fields(obviously), and you can change the data structure that feeds the report (as long as you don't remove fields that are in use), but the report is a template and in its own way inflexible.

For dynamic, you can create formulas to move the data around, but it is not really dynamic in the sense that you are looking for, I am guessing.

Now, you might be able to send multiple images in the same field and display them based on other criteria in the recordset...but I haven't worked with images so I could be completely wrong.

Same idea as you lockwelle but trying to get a better sense of what the desired output was to see if a reasonable approach was to dynamically alter what was in view as an alternative to "adding".

the problem that I am facing is that in the program the user must put some location points on a satelite image. we need to make a report and include images where the points are. The problem with this is that they can put how ever many points they want to.  So I need to find some way of dynamically creating fields to support these images. I need to be able to put many images on a report with a unset amount of fields. Thanks for the help by the way

based from what you said, you want to create more rows or records...

Crystal reports is for reporting.. it does not write data to the database.
You'll need to develop an application to do this.
