Hi,

I have a field {probsummarym1.brief.description} which is a string type.

It carries the incidents lists or problems.

Q. I want to find the repeated incidents from the lists so how can I setup that?

Q2. How to run the multiple search queries or keywords at one time in crystal report and get the data from
{probsummarym1.brief.description} based on queries?

Q1. Group on the {probsummarym1.brief.description} field and do a summary count to see how many times each string is used. Note this will only match exact strings. if you are looking for partial matches like in your second question you may just use the formulas mentioned below and count on those.
Q2. You could create different formula fields to check the item for each string you are looking for. You might post some examples for additional help in the coding if you need it. Also hoe you want your report to look and what you exactly want to get out of it.

In order to to assist can you post example data as it exists and how you want it to appear and be counted. I'll need this to put the formula togther.

TO GRoup click on the Group Button select the {probsummarym1.brief.description} field (or whatever field you want to create a group on) and choose ascending or descending.
YOu will see a GH1 and GF2 be inserted around your detail row.
The group header will have a field in it displying the data from the selected field. If you have data in your rows data that falls under that grouping will appear in these detail rows.
If you want a count of how many detail rows there are you can do a SUMMARY as a count on the field and place it at group footer1.

Thankx. I got the repeated incidents using Group option. But there are 1 things I want to do.

Q1. I want to list the highest repeated incident first and then goes on.

Q2. I want to create the bar chart showing the top 10 repeated incidents?

Can you please help me.

There may be a way to do both together if you only want to display the top 10 altogether in the report. If not you will have to do a sub report for the top 10 chart.

Click on the Group SOrt Expert.
In the For this Group select Top N
based on: Count of...
Where N is: if you put in 10 it will only show the top 10 otherwise you can put in a number higher than the total records to display them all and sort them all.
Include others with name: If you choose to display top 10 you can check this and it will clump all the non top 10 into a last grouping to still show in the report (it will also appear in your bar chart under the name you give it here).

For the Chart,
if you use the Top 10 just insert the chart and use the wizard to it will only display the top 10 (and others if you checked that box indicated above).

If you do not use the top 10 you will need to create a sub report that mimics this report exactly but does use the top10. Suppress everything in that report except the chart.
