Have the orginial book, great forum!

I'm using Crystal Reports XI with VS2003.

The company is planning on going to VS2008
shortly. I beleive its the Professional edition
and that comes with Crystal Reports Basic
for 2008.

Can we still use Crystal Reports XI with both
Visual Studio's?

Any advantage of using one over the other?

We have a lot of .NET projects that use version XI
presently. Getting this information on the web seems
scarce.

Thanks for your response...

Yes, you can use CR XI with VS 2008, but it was released before VS 2008 came out. So you need to download the latest service pack. There is SP0 which only enabled VS 2008 compatibility, and now they have SP1 which does the same as well as fixes bugs. I recommed SP1.

Thank you Brian for your reply.

Is there any advantage for using the VS2008 CR version instead?

Any "gotches" you know about?

What would you suggest?

Actually, from experience, Crystal XI reports will run in VS 2008 but Crystal XI will NOT integrate into VS 2008.  It comes with Crystal 10 and Crystal 2008 will integrate but the last I heard from BO, there are no plans to integrate XI.  I wasted a week fighting with this issue and ended up going back to VS 2005.
