Hi,

I have 10 text fields in VB6 and i need to generate those captured data into a Crystal report 8.5. I could able to send those captured data into access db and then generate in Crystal report.

My issue is, out of the 10 fields, one of the field will have more than 5000 characters (like document). Since this exceeds the 255 limit, i am not able to store this data into a column in access db table, before i generate it to the crystal report.

So is there any way that i can generate a crystal report from VB6 with out using db?
Or
is there any other way for me to generate crystal report with all the 10 capured data (one having more than 5000 char) from vb6?

Advance Thanks for your help.
Shan

You could try something like this:

rptFS.SetParameterValue("@paramCompany", Me.cboCompany.Text.Trim)

Where rptFS is an instance of the report. I don't create reports this way, but some at my company do.  Forgive me if there is a length limit to parameters.  If there is, I am guessing that it is bigger than 255, break up the 5000 line into something smaller and reassemble in Crystal.

Hope this helps

Thanks lockwelle.
I tried with the "memo" field in access db which captures more data (more than 255 char) and now i could able to display the records in crystal report.
