Hello,

Im new to CR and this forum. I have been reading the books for a couple months now but i cannot make progress with my task,  if you could provide some guideance it very greatly appretiated.

This is the situation
I have 4 tables as follows:

 Table1       Table2            Table3
ID                ID                   ID
EName        EID                  APPID
ELname       APPNAME        ACCTIME

The desire result should be as follows:

 Joe Doe
          Word
                  10/23/08 6AM
                  10/23/08 9AM
           Excel
                  10/23/08 11AM
           Quickbooks
                   10/23/08 2pm

 Jane Doe
           Word
                  10/23/08 3PM
           Paint
                  10/23/08 9AM
                  10/23/08 11AM
                  10/23/08 1PM
                  10/23/08 3PM

this is what i have so far, a main report with all the user info and a subreprot with the lsit of apps they used. Where i'm stuck at is how to get the dates & time for each app from the 3rd table onto the report.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,

Are you joining the two tables to get the info, can't you join the third table using the ID field.

You don't need a subreport.

Link from Table1.ID to Table2.EID.  Link from Table2.ID to Table3.APPID.  Group on Table1.ELName + Table1.EFName + Table1.ID (if ID is a number, you'll have to convert it to text) and format the name to put it in the Group Header.  Group on Table2.AppName and put the field in the Group Header.  Sort on Table3.ACCTIME and put the field in the Details.
