I've done this in older versions of Crystal, but am not currently in Xi so am not sure if it's available.

In general, I created a subreport as a separate RPT, inserted it into the main report, then rightclicked it, format, and on the subreport tab checked "reimport when opening".  This means the main report will always go grab the subreport from it's original RPT file, every time it runs.

My use for this was portrait & landscape page headers - all my reports got them, but at the time we were developing the reports, we hadn't really decided what they'd look like.  This worked swell, as I could insert the appropriate subreport to the main report, and when they made changes to the header, I only had to change the portrait & landscape subreport versions - then all reports were set.

Hope this was the answer you were looking for.

Hi,

I already tried with that reimport option.
The problem is that option can't help in runtime.
Everytime we changed the subreport, we need to open the main report & save it again.
That "reimport" option only work while opening the main report in crystal report IDE.

thanks
