Hi friends!

I have several reports in Crystal XI formated as XLS. All of them approximately the same size ( 2-4 MB). When I open XLS from InfoView, all reports open immediately. Only one report takes 11 min to open (view latest instance) ( both in DEV and in TEST ).

Why it could happen?

Thanks.Smile

Are the reports scheduled in BusinessObjects Enterprise or in Crystal Server?  If it's BO XI, which version of it?  Regardless of which one, have you applied any patches or fix packs?

And they're scheduled to automatically export to Excel instead of the Crystal Report format, correct?

all reports are scheduled in CMC (BO Enterprise)

BO XI r2

And they're scheduled to automatically export to Excel instead of the Crystal Report format.

I don't know anything about applied patches or fix packs, should I ask server admin?

Yes, you should ask about the service packs and fix packs.  There have been issues with a couple of them that might contribute to your problem.

Some other things you can do to try to determine where the problem is:

- Cancel the current recurring schedule and schedule it again.
- Publish a new copy of the rpt file you My Favorites.  Schedule it to XLS and see if this one takes a long time to open.
- Schedule an instance as Crystal.  Open the successful instance to determine whether it's taking a long time to open.

We found what caused the problem. Several fields in this report was assigned property "can grow". It created additional rows (30 thousands) in XLS and took a lot of time to open. When we unchecked "can grow" it  opened immediately.
