Hi,
I was asked to prepare a report which displays the count of the activities that should be displayed in the first page of the report, and the condition for the count must be like, it should show only the activities which is equal to "PHNENROLL". I mean (Activity_Table.Activity= "PHNENROLL"). But in the first page am actually displaying the representatives, under which there are many contacts and these contacts will have the activities as said above.

Initial page displays : Representatives , Count of activities(="PHNENROLL")
On first drill down : Contacts, No of activities(="PHNENROLL")
Second drill down : list of activities(all the activities, not only "PHNENROLL"), it will display all the activities for a CONTACT.

The problem i find is, how to get all the count of activities(that too only "PHNENROLL" count) of all the Contacts under a Representative and display that count in the initial page.

Does anyone have a solution to this issue..... ????
Please help me out with this !!
Thanks !!

You will probably have to use a subreport to do this.  The subreport will contain just the counts that you need.

Use the same tables as in your main report, but only use the ones that you need to get your counts.  Since you want to look at all of the data, you won't need to do any linking.  Set the Selection Filter to only select the PHNENROLL activities and then Group by representative.  You can then get your count of activities at the representative level

Ok Dell,
Thanks a lot.... Using a sub report worked.....

But now i find a new problem. Generally after publishing the report, before running the report, it will ask for the date parameters (Start date & end Date). and it will be automatically added into the selection criteria and the report is generated for those date parameters.

When i use a sub report, how can i pass those date parameters (start date & End date) in to the sub report and display the count for those date parameters.....

Is my explanation clear ??? How can i do that ???

Thanks,
siddhu.

You need to set up the sub-report links.  Right-click on the subreport and select Subreport Links.  Link from the date parameters in your main report to the date fields in your subreport.  You'll then want to updated the Selection Criteria in the subreport because the links will come through as "Is equal to".
