Hi,

I have to display the notes in the report for every data. these notes while saving the database, gets appended by some computer scripts in the front and back of the notes. so while displaying the notes also, these computer scripts are getting displayed. i want only the notes to be displayed.
For example :
actual Notes : Comparing plans gave cost of ASA 0 monthy premium

It is saved in the database as :{\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252\deff0\deflang1033{\fonttbl{\f0\fnil\fcharset0 Microsoft Sans Serif;}}\viewkind4\uc1\pard\f0\fs17 Comparing plans gave cost of ASA 0 monthy premium.\par}

I want only the BLUE font to be displayed in the reports.
Is there any way to achieve this.
Thanks in advance !!
Thanks,
Siddhu.

Hi,
The solution to this specific text is as follows

Create three formulas

frm1

this extracts the string till

;}}\viewkind4\uc1\pard\f0\fs17 Comparing plans gave cost of ASA 0 monthy premium.\par}

then
frm2
Comparing plans gave cost of ASA 0 monthy premium.\par}

then
frm3
Comparing plans gave cost of ASA 0 monthy premium.

this will only work if all your actual notes fields have same delimiting characters in the database.....

Cheers

Thanks Rahul,

When i tried your solution It showed some error in the second formula (@frm3) stating "This String is less than 0 or its not an Integer " and

Also when I checked with the database and found that the computer scripts are not same always.  sometimes the "FS17" varies to diff number and sometimes the whole script is different.

for ex :
{\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252\deff0\deftab360{\fonttbl{\f0\fswiss Arial;}}  \viewkind4\uc1\pard\lang1033\f0\fs20 Due Date:  3/8/2007 12:00:00 AM\par  \par  Activity:  OUTBOUND TELEPHONE CALL\par  \par  Assigned To:\par    CHRISTINA OLSON\par  \par  Contacts:\par    Dixie Farrell\par  \par  Activity Notes:\par  \par  Christina to call and invite her to the meeting.\par  Christina,\par  Can you find out what going on with this client.\par  My boss wants me to check all of my outstanding customer.\par  Can you call her and let me know.\par  Thanks. Kaoru\par  }

Can you help me out with this !!
Thanks !!

and also, from selecting distinct records from the database i found there are 28 different types of those computer scripts. Is there any way by which i can remove these from the actual notes that has to be displayed  by using an arraylist or some thing like that ???

Cheers,
Siddhu
