We are currently moving from Actuate to Business Objects/Crystal. The current project is completely dynamic,in the sense that the user selects the rows, column and sections to be displayed. Its been built using object oriented concepts where the entire functionality has been coded in Actuate Basic libraries which is similar to Visual Basic.
We have built a demo on how to using BO/Crystal, where we are using MyEclipse to code the functionality in the Actuate libraries. This WAR file returns the final SQL which is then pushed to an empty crystal rpt file. All teh columns are populated dynamically since its not fixed.
It works fine for the demo perspective. We have over 3000 reports that exists on the server. The code is very hugh so we are planning on converting the Actuate Basic files to JAR files.
The current project uses a lot of inbuilt Actuate libraries. Is there any way we could figure out the corresponding libraries in BO/Crystal so that we can replace them directly.
Any thoughts or suggestions is highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kiran
